5 years of brewing coffee

Last friday, Yellow Hauz celebrated its 5th year anniversary. I can’t imagine we’ve reached this far… five years ago, I don’t even drink coffee nor had any idea how to make one, but now I can’t live without my cappuccino.

So in celebration of our anniversary and to give thanks to all who supported Yellow Hauz, we gave out free coffee from Friday ’til Sunday. Hope you we’re able to dropped by last weekend.

Anyway, let me share some few facts about Yellow Hauz. Few years back, that parking space used just a blank area with walls and a yellow gate. Although, the whole structure of the house was already there but it was just merely unpainted facade and posts.

And this area, used to be our lawn and garage.

This one used to be our sala… as a matter of fact, that couch belonged in our house before and we just reupholstered it for the coffeeshop.

The door on the left, used to be the master bedroom and now it is use for small meetings or functions. The rest like the kitchen and restrooms were still used as it is…

Cheers to many more years of brewing…

Yellow Hauz: Orange & Almond

I mentioned before that I’m a barista by day. One of my favorite thing of being a barista is you get to try different drinks.

And this month’s flavored drink for Yellow Hauz is quite unusual for some people. Some may not like it, but others would also love it. I have a thing with orange flavor before and I thought, why not combine it with coffee.

Thus, Orange & Almond in latté or iced was formulated.

If you don’t feel the almonds, try PhotoCOFFEE, it’s a combination of white chocolate and orange. A bit curious about this orange flavor? Head over to Yellow Hauz because this will only be offered this month. Although PhotoCoffee is part of our menu.

We are also celebrating our 5th year anniversary next weekend. We will have photobooth and free Americano for everyone. I’ll keep you posted through our facebook.

Milk Tea Love

Barista maybe my part-time job in our coffeeshop but I only have at least one coffee or even none in a day. However, there’s one drink that I can drink as much as I can in a day… and it’s milk tea. I remember when we were in Singapore, not a single milk tea store will passed by without me buying there. I’ve really gone crazy with it.

Gladly, Philippines is becoming a tea lover now. And luckily, I have a coffeeshop where I can have the milk tea in the world. What I’m trying to say is… Yellow Hauz is now offering Milk Tea {seriously having one right now}.

Yellow Hauz has 3 different flavors: Classic Milk Tea, Taro and Wintermelon. And you should also try the Chocolate with Rocksalt and Cheese {plain chocolate, no tea}. You can choose your sugar level from 25-100% and various toppings of Milk Pudding, Egg Pudding, Grass Jelly, Nata de coco, Adzuki Beans, Coffee Jelly and of course the famous Black Pearls.

Imagine how many cups I can consume in a day or in a week… I don’t even want to count it… yeah, that’s how crazy I am with it, lol… I hope you’ll enjoy your milk tea as much as I did…

Take-out bag for Yellow Hauz

Alright… so my being hands-on to my business; miser when it comes to costing and the DIY person I am,  can be very helpful and it had gain another creativity to our coffeeshop- Yellow Hauz. Why didn’t I think of this before? I got inspired with Twig and Thistle idea for the Valentine DIY and I thought, this is perfect for our take-out bags for the coffeeshop right?

Craft paper printed on an inkjet printer

Take-out anyone?

Who would have thought an ordinary craft paper bag can be printed with your inkjet printer and use it for a commercial take-out bag? Definitely Twig and Thistle had thought of it, hahaha. Honestly, it’s not cheaper compared if we have it printed on a printing press. But on the otherhand, we don’t need to order by bulk and it’s handmade, who doesn’t fall for handmade, right? haha and this is just the right match for our cozy coffeeshop. How do you like it? If you ask me, I really love it…
