Valentine Guide by Discover Paper

Today is actually the last day of January, crazy isn’t it? I hardly believe it! And I only had few post for this month, woah! Disappointing I know. As much as I wanted to catch up with my blogging, I have to set my priorities and finish the designs in the studio first.

Anyway, since tomorrow is already February, there’s only one thing in our minds… Valentine’s Day. It’s the love month for sure… and what a better way to celebrate it but by giving gifts or writing those heartwarming words in a card.

Do you still remember Holiday Guide? Donaville of Discover Paper made that and she’s making our lives easy once again by making a Valentine Guide that does not only cater a wide variety of gift ideas but also DIY projects to inspire you to have a wonderful valentine day.

And again, this really got me so excited because just like the Holiday Guide, I had the privilege to be part of it, and this time, I made a DIY project… a valentine card.

I really hope you’ll find the DIY card inspiring, I tried to use materials that are mostly found in our craft stash, like: Doily, ribbon, gift tags, and stamps. You can definitely make a creative card without spending a dime and you can check the other materials and the instructions on page 100 of the Valentine Guide. Happy crafting for the love day…

Bridal Fair in Manila

Last weekend, Green Tomato and Artisan tried for the very first time to join a bridal fair in Manila. It was held in SMX and surprisingly it was a great experience for us. So I thought I’d share some of the photos from the event.

During the set-up... privilege of a girl, you can just sit and relax

Few of my samples. Apparently, the DIY bottle was at the back of the blue invitation. Silly me! I forgot to take a good shot of it.

Our business cards, flyers and DVD all set to meet new clients

Green Tomato run out of business cards so I asked Joanne to drew it instead. We printed it on a cardstock and viola! Illustrated calling card.

That's us! Jason-Joanne-Me-Heintje. Can you see how tall I am? haha

Though we came not prepared but all was well and we’re actually looking forward for next time. Maybe I’ll get my own booth by then, hopefully and crossing fingers.

On the other note, there were so many great companies who joined. Creativity were flowing, from their calling cards, flyers and booths, ahhh… I can’t imagine if I’m the bride, I would definitely have a hard time deciding which to choose. But here are my favorites booths…

DIY: Dressing up a Bottle

Let’s start of this year with a simple DIY to compensate my absence. Tomorrow I’ll be leaving for Manila together with the Green Tomato team to join a bridal fair in SMX. It’s our very first time to participate in fair outside my turf, and I’m quite anxious actually. In preparation for the bridal fair, I will bring a small bottle to display some of my samples, and this is how I dressed it up.

What you will need:

• Scissors and Adhesive Tape

• Yarn or Twine or maybe ribbon

• Wrapper {you may also use tissue paper}

• Bottle

Step 1: Encase the bottle with the wrapper and locked it with the tape.

Step 2: Tie the yarn around the bottle and ribbon it. You can add more layers or a different  yarn color. Contrasting colors may also be nice.

And the output… still simple but more attractive.

What I’ve plan to do with it.

You can use this as a centerpiece for your wedding or simply put a flower and display it in your house. If you’re reading this and you’re from Manila, please do drop by in our booth and would love to meet you.

Kawaii love

Oh my, we’re almost half way of January. I’m sorry for the lack of post, I got sick right after new year and it lasted for more than a week. I had a terrible flu and caused me delays in my work. So, I started the year sickly and now I’m cramming for the deadlines, I just hope I won’t get sick again.

But on the otherhand, I was able to rest for another week. And since I’m back, still coughing and sneezing though, the year started great regardless of it. Inquiries and orders have been sprucing up in the studio that’s why it got me fueled up again.

One thing that is pending though is my new year’s resolution. I missed writing down my plans and goals for this year. But will do once I’m done cleaning up my room, which is also another pending to-do from my list. However, I’m preparing my planner for the heavy never ending lists with these kawaii stickers and other paper goods I was able to buy from Taiwan and Hongkong.

Now, those unwanted errands and stressful deadlines won’t look so bad afterall with all these cuteness that surrounds my planner. I used from my very own vintage planner collection of course, Velorbis. I wonder how you doodle or add your creativity on your planners?
